I really enjoyed this imaginary interview! Interviewers so often lack the patience and finesse to ask questions with the intention of listening to the response. Even in an imaginary interview your pauses and humourous acknowledgement of Carrington's displeasure is admirable. :)
Glad you enjoyed it. It was enormous fun to write and might be the start of a short series, with different locations and interview subjects. I'm not sure yet if any of the artists will actually answer the interviewer's questions, but I just felt sure Leonora would have refused to speak!
I laughed several times reading this--such a fun way to learn more about the rich and complicated life of this wonderful artist through your imaginary one-sided interview. I love your whole premise!
Thanks, Sarah! It was a bit naughty of me to show her as more or less having a tantrum but that's how the thing played out in my head. In other words, don't blame me: blame my imagination! And yes, I was definitely looking for ways to avoid a lecture-style approach to informing people.

Nicely handled humour riffing on actual Leonora interviews
Thanks, Anna. I love the one with Joanna Moorhead where Leonora scolds her for intellectualising. She is so fierce!
Such an engaging way to write about an artist’s life and works. Thank you, I enjoyed it immensely.
