That's exactly it, Sarah: a waking dream as you gaze at the picture. I really want to find time to record some of these as audio so that people can look at the image and listen at the same time. I realised this would be a good idea when someone usefully commented that going back up and down to compare the image with my made-up commentary was sometimes awkward on the screen, especially on a phone, so that would solve it. But I am so, so busy building my new website.

It's a great idea to record them--I laughed when I read this comment because it's exactly what I did when I was reading it--going back up and down to look at the painting as I read through your story. It doesn't matter that you're too swamped to do it now, you'll get to it--it's all good! Every week I vow that I'm going to read some of my posts aloud for subscribers who'd rather listen than read, and it still hasn't happened yet. But somehow, I feel a little closer to getting it done than I felt last week! :D
