Thanks-you've tune into her really well, Kathy-great choice. I saw this at the City Art Gallery a few years ago at their 'Women and Surrealism' show-yes, it's impressive.
Was that the Manchester one, in 2009? If so, that was absolutely the best exhibition I've ever seen: it fizzed with life and originality! I left in a state of euphoria and it inspired me to finish the first draft of Swimming with Tigers, my novel about the women surrealists. At the end of the book, I acknowledge Patricia Allmer, who curated that exhibition and I am currently trying to get up the courage to contact her ahead of the launch. Glad you liked my piece on Agar's Angel: did you also have the impulse to unwrap her?
Yes-the very same-Patricia's curating was great. No, I felt she's been 'masked and muted' by the patriarchal establishment-the unwrapping adds a whole new dimension and sets her free!
Thanks, but in a way I'm not sure how much credit I can claim: I use freewriting, and to be honest, there's not a huge lot of editing afterwards. I allow the art to 'possess' me and see what comes out! I'm genuinely as surprised as you are when reading it.

LOVED this one Kathy! Love how you model how to interact with art through these imagined stories!
Thanks, Sarah!
And maybe I'm not the only one who has these wicked thoughts in art galleries?!
Hahaha--no you're not! Also, really great writing--loved so many of these sentences!

That is so great.
