Meret Oppenheim

As the creator of the wonderful surrealist object after which this Substack is named, Meret Oppenheim was always going to feature as one of my woman surrealists of the week.

I had a great time choosing five of her works and reminding myself and everyone else how very broad her work is including painting, sculpture and writing, and taking in surrealist and abstract approaches.

Meret Oppenehim refused to be categorised as any one thing.
